I’m happy to share that The Catholic Advent Activity Book for Children Ages 4–7 is now published on Amazon!

I created this book to give young children a gentle, creative way to learn about Advent and prepare their hearts for Christmas. Through coloring, tracing, counting, matching, picture puzzles, and mazes, little ones explore the people and traditions at the heart of the season as they prepare for the coming of Jesus.

Five Advent sections, with eight activities in each
The book includes 40 activities arranged in five themed sections. Each section gives children several ways to explore one part of the Advent story:
- The Advent Wreath
- Mary Says Yes to God
- St. Joseph Gets Ready for Jesus
- Mary Visits Elizabeth
- The Journey to Bethlehem
Each section begins with one coloring page, a simple explanation, and a little prayer to say together. Then come seven activity pages: shadow matching, tracing, Count and Find, Find the Match, Find It!, Spot the Difference, and a maze. The activities stay with that section’s theme, giving children time to become familiar with it as they play and learn.
A child might count angels on a Mary Says Yes to God page, search for matching pictures, or follow a maze through St. Joseph’s workshop. This variety lets little ones revisit the same Advent theme in different ways, with something new to notice or try on each page.
Alongside the activities, Advent offers so many opportunities for small conversations about faith. A child coloring Mary’s picture might ask about the angel’s visit. A page about Joseph can become a chance to talk about trusting God. The journey to Bethlehem invites us to wonder together about that first Christmas.
Those little moments of curiosity and connection are what I hope this book will encourage.
You might keep a copy beside the crayons for a quiet afternoon, share a few pages during homeschool time, or bring it out when a grandchild visits. There’s no need to rush through it. Let a picture, a question, or a conversation set the pace.

If you’re looking for a thoughtful gift to give before Advent begins, this paperback is a way to place a little faith-filled creativity in a child’s hands. Giving it early means they can enjoy it throughout the season of preparing for Christmas.
My hope is that these pages help make room for moments of wonder, time together, and a growing love for Jesus.

For a book children can bring to Mass throughout the year, read how LOOK UP! at Mass with Louis and Lily helps little ones connect activities on the page with what they see and hear in church.
You can also read the story behind LOOK UP!—how going to Mass with my grandchildren inspired a book about discovering our faith together.
With blessings,
